Materials

The Pela Case is made of Flaxstic®, which is comprised of compostable bioplastic elastomer and flax straw materials. Our material has been tested to be safe and free of phthalates, BPA, cadmium and lead and is verified to meet child safety standards in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

Our base material meets U.S. (ASTM D6400-04) and E.U. (EN 13432) standards for composting in an industrial composting facility and has a lower carbon footprint and lower greenhouse gas emissions than traditional plastic. It can also be left to compost in a home composting environment.

Our Case Design

Meticulously designed to protect your phone from drops and scratches as well as any traditional plastic case. Precision cuts around speakers, charger, volume and power buttons.

Carefully designed wrap around edges to protect the front of your phone. Smooth to the touch, flexible with no extra bulk.

I really like the fun cosmos design! The quality is great and the fact it’s compostable is cool. I just got a new phone and I knew I wanted to try a Pela case. I try to just have one case for the life of my phone so I’m looking forward to having this one for a long time.
